The health, safety and well-being of our employees, and those we transport is Patient Transport Services’ top priority.  We are actively responding to the rapidly evolving COVID-19 situation based on the guidance of WHO, Government of Canada, Province of Manitoba and WRHA/Shared Health.  You can rest assured that Patient Transport Services follows stringent infection prevention and control procedures throughout our organization.  In fact,  we are the only stretcher service organization within Canada that has achieved Accreditation Canada certification.  Additionally, we were bestowed with the ‘Commendation’ certification.  Accreditation means that we are recognized as a healthcare organization that meets national standards related to quality of care, infection prevention and control management, leadership, corporate accountability and more.  Beyond the basic accreditation status, organizations can be given special recognition by Accreditation Canada. Accreditation with Commendation is used to designate organizations that went above and beyond the already high standards Accreditation Canada sets, demonstrating an exemplary commitment to deliver quality care.

As leaders, setting the standards in patient transport, our robust infection prevention and control program is second to none.  Our team members follow stringent policies and procedures ensuring your safety at all times. Our vehicles are disinfected after every transport ensuring a safe and clean environment. State of the art dry gas disinfection equipment is utilized to disinfect the air and surfaces in our vehicles and building.  Our building is secured and access is only allowed to our team members, and required deliveries, and only after thorough screening procedures.  All other visits deemed non-essential are taking place utilizing our state of the art virtual technology.

As we navigate this ever-evolving situation, you have our commitment to do our very best to ensure your health, safety and well-being.  It won’t be business as usual. You may experience delays when accessing our dispatch center or awaiting transport arrivals. But, you will be able to count on us. While Manitobans follow the advice of public health officials and step back to practice social distancing and self-isolate, our team members are stepping forward and continuing their hard work, around the clock, to live up to our commitment.

As we do our part, please do yours.  Now is the time for action.  Please follow the government recommendations for social distancing and self-isolation.  We all need to do our part to protect each other.  Please see the Province of Manitoba information website at https://manitoba.ca/covid19/ for the latest information.
